Wild And Free Therapy CIC

United Through the Ocean

Therapeutic blue space opportunities for children, young people and their families affected by disability and mental health challenges, in Dorset, UK.

"Harnessing the healing powers of the ocean to build a healthier, happier community."

Wild and Free Therapy is a non-profit organisation based in Bournemouth, UK.

We specialise in working with children and young people and their parents/carers who may need support through disability, neurodiversity, or social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, and/or special educational needs.

We offer surf therapy programmes, adaptive surfing and paddle boarding, and other blue space sessions (such as wild swimming and yoga) to individuals and groups across the Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset areas.

We are fortunate to be surrounded by the ocean and our programmes embrace the therapeutic effects of being in, on and by, the ocean.  The health and wellbeing of both the body and mind of our participants are equally prioritised in our work.  We aim to build confidence and self-esteem, by facilitating activities that promote feelings of safety and trust.

Rose’s joy was evident. She loved it so, so much. It was wonderful for her to be able to embrace her happy place, the sea. Both staff members were clear with their instructions to Rose – as well as friendly and welcoming, and ensured Rose was safe and happy at all times. “
